ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Film team's speciality is sharing stories and we look for Editors who are passionate about cinema - captivating characters, resonating scores, and delightful narrative beats that make films memorable. Being a Flight Editor is all about creativity and consistency. Our team is highly collaborative, so you'll routinely work with Directors and Senior Producers to create compelling narratives. As an Editor, you'll be responsible for carrying out your Director’s creative vision, while upholding the quality of our cinematographers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Edit frame by frame as needed, to support the dialogue and complete the film
  • Create a comprehensive story from a variety of locations and angles
  • Communicate with our team regarding status of editing, the goal, and vision for the film
  • Work within the timeline established by AE’s and Producers to hand off films on time
  • Color grade videos to meet the brand standards and/or narrative goals
  • Select and/or work with music to fit narrative beats, supporting motion, and evoking emotion
  • Create motion graphics to fit brand standards and/or support narrative goals
  • Collaborate with the Film Team in Pre-Production and on set as needed

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 4+ years of experience editing film and/or commercial projects
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Ability to work well on a team; giving and receiving constructive feedback
  • Attention to detail, with an open mind and creative approach to problem solving
  • Great communication skills; ability to clearly articulate rationale behind creative decisions
  • Great time management skills; ability to communicate film progress in terms of hours
  • Applicants must provide Reel and/or Reference Links of work to be considered.

BONUS POINTS FOR

  • Familiarity with Sony camera interfaces
  • Experience in Photography
  • Experience in Music, Music Theory, etc.
  • Experience with Studiobinder
  • Experience with Frame.io
  • Experience tailoring After Effects with expressions, using the graph editor

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer
  • May be required to stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time
  • Flexible availability for the occasional night and weekend shoots
