The Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives represents electric cooperatives across the state. These not-for-profit utilities power hundreds of rural communities and empower hundreds of thousands of Oklahomans. Committed to delivering safe, reliable and affordable energy, these cooperatives are trusted partners and industry leaders in an evolving energy landscape.
The energy marketplace is more complex than ever. Consumers are navigating extreme weather, grid challenges and emerging technologies like solar power and electric vehicles — and they’re looking for guidance they can trust.
We identified three key themes that resonated with our audience segments:
1) The growing need for a trusted energy advisor
2) Heightened concern around reliability
3) A strong interest in energy efficiency
We also zeroed in on the cooperative difference — deep community roots and a member-owner model that puts people over profit. Our goal was clear: position Oklahoma’s cooperatives as forward-thinking leaders while reinforcing their mission of community service.
To strengthen our connection with key audiences, we developed three long-form videos. Each piece was centered on a core leadership pillar:
+ Trusted Energy Advisors — Guiding members through informed decisions about solar, EVs, and wind-generation technologies
+ Leaders in Reliability — Demonstrating grid preparedness, resource planning and a balanced generation portfolio
+ Energy Efficiency Leadership — Showcasing programs that help members save energy and money
In addition to developing highly strategic videos, Flight accomplished a trailblazing achievement. We became Oklahoma’s first marketing agency to receive the state filming rebate from the Oklahoma Film + Music Office. The rebate empowered us to maximize creative impact while hiring local crew and completing post-production in-state, making this a truly Oklahoman production from start to finish. To ensure authenticity, we featured real cooperative employees and filmed in an Oklahoma town served by a local co-op.
To complement our long-form videos, we created shorter edits for TV, social and digital platforms. The long-form videos anchored the campaign, while strategic short-form edits extended reach across broadcast, digital and social platforms. Messaging was tailored by channel to ensure clarity, consistency and performance.
The result was a cohesive campaign that strengthened awareness and reinforced the cooperative difference across Oklahoma communities. It not only engaged member-owners, it raised the organization’s profile with regulators, state lawmakers and the general public.
Following launch, we refined content for additional placements and optimized messaging based on audience insights. By adapting assets for platform-specific performance, we extended the campaign’s reach and deepened its impact. We are honored to be trusted marketing partners to our friends at OAEC. Because cooperatives don’t just provide electricity. They power communities. And they empower the people who call them home.
